Seniors Honored at Awards Brunch

Kim Takes Home Team MVP Award

 

ANN ARBOR, Mich.-- Michigan's graduating seniors: longstick midfielder Dave DiCamillo (Port Washington, NY/Schrieber) and midfielders Kevin Keenan (Birmingham, MI/Seaholm) and Eric DeLamarter (Concord, MA/Concord-Carlisle), along with senior managers Elsa Wachter and Niki Ernst, were honored today at the annual Michigan Lacrosse Booster Club Awards Brunch at the Campus Inn in Ann Arbor.  Each of the seniors gave his or her outgoing speech.

 

In addition, 2002 team awards were announced and distributed.  For the second straight year, junior goalie Sooman Kim (Troy, MI/Troy) took home the Team MVP Award.  A captain as a junior, Kim had another outstanding year between the pipes for the Wolverines, stopping almost 60% of the shots he faced. Joining Kim as award winners were:

 

Offensive MVP - junior midfielder Chip Thomas (Tenafly, NJ/Dwight-Englewood)

 

Defensive MVP - sophomore defenseman John Morgan (Rockville Centre, NY/ South Side)

 

Unsung Hero - junior goalie Jerry Perez (Shelby Twp, MI/Utica Eisenhower)

 

Leadership/Inspiration - senior longstick midfielder Dave DiCamillo (Port Washington, NY/Port Washington)

 

Commitment/Citizenship - senior midfielder Kevin Keenan (Birmingham, MI/Seaholm)

 

Most Improved - sophomore attackman Jeff Hanna (Fayetteville, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius)

 

Rookie of the Year - freshman attackman Ryan Clark (Summitt, NJ/Summitt)

 

Wesley Martus Scholar-Athlete - sophomore midfielder Kevin Toller (Ann Arbor, MI/Pioneer)
