Twelve Wolverines Receive All-CCLA Honors
Ann Arbor, Mich. - With a dominating effort in conference play,
including a 5-0 record heading into the CCLA Conference Tournament, the
University of Michigan men's lacrosse team has placed seven players on
the All-CCLA 1st Team, three players on the second team and
two players on the third team.
Comprising the Wolverines' first-team contingent are senior captain and
defenseman Brad Ferriell (Cockeysville, Md./Cockeysville),
senior captain and goaltender Ryan Kaufman (Olney, Md./Olney),
junior midfielder Mark Hammitt (Madison, N.J./Delbarton -
Boston College) junior faceoff specialist Brekan Kohlitz
(St. Claire Shores, Mich./N.D. Harper Woods), junior midfielder
Bobby Morales (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Brother Rice), junior
defensive midfielder Michael Shearman (Madison, N.J./Seton
Hall Prep) and sophomore attackman Jared Blechman
(Setauket, N.Y./Setauket).
Second teamers include senior attackman Evan Fox (Suffern,
N.Y./Suffern), junior attacker Peter Krauss (Grand Rapids,
Mich./Forest Hills Central) and sophomore midfielder Peter Vasher
(Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer). Michigan's two third-team
members are sophomore defender Zach Elyacher (Upper Saddle
River, N.J./Northern Highlands) and freshman faceoff specialist
David Reinhard (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing).
Michigan will be back in action in the semi-final round of the CCLA
Conference Tournament on Saturday, May 5, at 12:30pm EST in Mason, Ohio
at Kings Stadium at Kings High. The Wolverines' opponent is yet to be
determined.
