Michigan Lacrosse Names Captains
Ann Arbor, Mich. - The University
of Michigan men's lacrosse team has named their captains for the
upcoming 2007 season. Three seniors, midfielder Matt Hudson
(Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville), defenseman Brad Ferriell
(Cockeysville, Md./Dulaney) and goaltender Ryan Kaufman
(Olney, Md./Magruder) will lead the squad this spring.
Hudson, a former attackman, enters his
final campaign coming off another successful season in '06. Starting
six games and participating in 19, Hudson finished last season with 19
goals and 13 assists. His 13 assists eclipsed his total of 12 from his
previous two seasons.
Kaufman begins his second season as the
Wolverine's starting goaltender and was a key cog in last year's
success. A vocal leader on and off the field, Kaufman posted a .599
save percentage to go along with a 7.40 goals against in 2006.
Ferriell headlines a young defensive
corps and brings a physical presence to the back line. Starting all 20
games for the Wolverines despite battling through injuries much of the
year, Ferriell finished with one goal on the season and was a mainstay
throughout the season.
Michigan will open the 2007 season on
Friday, February 16 vs. Central Michigan at Oosterbaan Fieldhouse at
7:00pm.
