Schedule Set for 2007 Campaign

Ann Arbor, Mich. - The University of Michigan men's lacrosse team has released a tentative schedule for the 2007 spring season.  The Wolverines will kick things off in early February with a pair of scrimmages vs. Wittenberg and Dayton on February 3 before starting their regular season vs. CCLA opponent Central Michigan at home in Oosterbaan Fieldhouse two weeks later on Friday, February 16 at 7:00pm.  The Maize and Blue battle D-III Kenyon on Saturday, February 17 at Oosterbaan before heading off on their annual Spring-Break trip to tackle Florida and Florida State.

U-M returns home in mid-March for a five-game home swing that will see them take on local rivals Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Oakland along with a televised contest vs. Wooster at Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor and a match vs. Arizona State to close out the home-stretch.

The Wolverines schedule doesn't get any easier down the stretch as they travel to St. Louis, MO. for contests vs. Lindenwood and Colorado State followed by a home match vs. long-time nemesis Brigham Young.  BYU bounced the Wolverines from the '06 National Championship Tournament in the quarter-final round last season.  Michigan will close out the regular season against another rival, Michigan State on April 21 in Birmingham, Michigan in a televised game on Comcast Sports.  After defeating the Spartans in front of roughly 5,000 fans in Grand Rapids in the regular season, MSU handed Michigan their second conference loss in program history last season, defeating the Wolverines in the semi-finals of the CCLA Tournament.

A week later, U-M will travel to Dayton, Ohio to compete in the CCLA Tournament from April 27-29.  Michigan will look for a strong showing at the conference tournament in hopes of securing a high seed for the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) National Championship Tournament that will be taking place from May 8-12 in Dallas, Texas.
