Peter Krauss's Colorado Trip Journal: Entry #2

What can you say about Graham's shutout performance in Boulder?  Colorado was a good team that created a lot of great scoring opportunities.  While a win is always a team effort, I'm having a hard time remembering when one player had as big an impact as Graham did on Thursday.  I was proud of the team's performance, but I'm absolutely positive that we can all play much better.

We were sad to see the Michigan hockey team lose in overtime to Notre Dame, but it did cross our minds that we are now the only #1 team on campus.  As cool as that is, it doesn't mean anything unless we bring home a national championship.  This is the third time I've been on a #1 ranked Michigan team, but I still don't have the ring that counts.

The Stones had us over for dinner last night.  Besides laughing at all the funny little kid pictures of Mark, it was great to stuff ourselves with good food and relax in a comfortable setting.  I felt pretty spoiled when I realized we were eating chocolate covered strawberries and s'mores on a road trip.  You would be hard pressed to find a club team anywhere in the country that gets treated as well as we do.

We returned to the hotel with plenty of time to rest up for Colorado State.  Apparently Hammitt couldn't sleep because of a late night bluegrass session outside his room, but then again he's always complaining about something.  Just kidding … but seriously.  We head out to Fort Collins this afternoon to take on the Rams.  The word is that they're inducting their first hall of fame class.  If all goes as planned, it should be a pretty somber ceremony.
