Peter Krauss's Colorado Trip Journal: Entry #3

Victory!  Another stellar defensive effort against CSU.  While the Rams dominated time of possession and actually beat us in ground balls, Graham and the D held on long enough to push two overtimes.  When Vasher's heroics sealed the deal, the entire team mobbed him in celebration.  He must have had some really delicious cookies at the end of regulation (inside joke).

Once again we ended a game knowing that we could have played better.

Offensively, we are going to have to learn how to control the pace of the game.  We lacked poise in key situations, myself definitely included.  At least we're a lot better looking than the defense.  Also, Kenny finally knows all of the words to The Victors.

I'm sorry to say that the CSU fans were less than classy.  It's a shame that respectful fans have become the exception rather than the rule on the road this year.  At least we know that if the spectators get too wild, the trio of Mr. Morales, Mr. Townsend, and my dad are ready to defend us.

As I write this the clock in the Denver airport reads 6 am.  People are getting a little loopy after the 3:30 wakeup call.  Martu dared to eat airport lox, and Wes is buzzing after his conversation with George Clinton.  There are a lot of sore bodies, but Holli keeps a sharp eye on all of our maladies.  Spirits are deservedly high, mostly because the only thing standing between Dallas and us is a month of CCLA games, a stretch where our toughest opponent will be ourselves.  It being my last season of competitive athletics, the only way I can retire happy is to leave everything I have on the field.  I know I can trust my teammates to do the same.
