Michigan to Host Hopkins and Army
Ann Arbor, Mich. - The University of Michigan Men's Lacrosse team
will take on nine-time NCAA National Champion and 2007's title-winner,
Johns Hopkins University along with perennial top-25 Army on Friday,
October 12th in Ann Arbor, Michigan at Elbel Field at 6:00 pm
in an evening of scrimmages.
Michigan has taken on Division I opponents in
scrimmage formats before, but the Hopkins and Army should test the
Wolverines' mettle like never before. This also marks the first time
that Michigan will compete against such high caliber teams in Ann Arbor.
Said Michigan head coach John Paul, "We are honored
that coach Pietramala and coach Alberici are willing to bring their
teams here to Ann Arbor and to play us. It's a tremendous
opportunity for our program and for lacrosse in the state of Michigan.
It's a unique chance to see the best in the game playing close to home,
and I know the lacrosse community will come out in full force to support
this great event."
Last season, the Wolverines finished 13-5 (7-0
Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association) in the Men's Collegiate
Lacrosse Association, the governing body for the nation's top collegiate
club teams. The MCLA provides a governing structure much like the NCAA
with nine MCLA conferences spread across the country.
$5 general admission tickets will be available at
the gate on game-day with no plans for advanced ticket sales. Each team
will play each other for three total games over the course of the
evening. For more information, and all of your Michigan Men's Lacrosse
