Wolverines Bolster Coaching Staff with Addition of Broschart
Ann Arbor, Mich. - The University of Michigan Men's Lacrosse team
has announced the hiring of former University of Arizona head coach Ken Broschart as an assistant coach for the 2008 season.
Broschart carries a strong resume to Ann Arbor with
a 55-23 (.705) overall record at Arizona over the past four years, while
guiding the Wildcats to three conference finals and four National
Championship tournament appearances during that span. Broschart was
also named the Western Collegiate Lacrosse League Coach of the Year in
2004. Broschart brings a wealth of international coaching experience to
the table as well, with two stints as a member of the USA West Team
coaching staff. As the head coach in '07, Broschart's team, which
featured current Wolverines Brekan Kohlitz and Mark Hammitt, won the
Berlin Open, and as an assistant in '05, the squad took home the Asian
Pacific Championship.
"We're very fortunate to add a coach of Ken's
caliber to the staff. I had the pleasure of working with Ken with the
USA West team in 2005, and there is nobody who is going to work harder
to make his team successful," added Head Coach John Paul.
Broschart
was a four-year starting defenseman at the New York Institute of
Technology where he was a three-time NCAA D-II All-American and team
captain during his senior year. Broschart earned a B.A. in Business
Management from NYIT in 2000. He currently lives in Ann Arbor with his
girlfriend Keekan.Contact:
