Gil Leaf
Assistant Coach (10th season)

 

Now in his tenth year with the team, Gil Leaf works with the Michigan goalies and assists the team with fundraising, booster and alumni relations.  He has been instrumental in the on-field and personal development of numerous Michigan players.

 

Leaf was the varsity goalie at Harvard from 1961-1963, where he earned 1st-Team All-Ivy League honors his senior year.  He also played varsity soccer.  He began his playing career at Philips Andover Academy where he developed a passion for the game that still drives him today.  He has been instrumental in developing middle school lacrosse programs for boys and girls in Ann Arbor.

 

Leaf  holds an AB ('63) and and EdD('88), both from Harvard.  He resides in Ann Arbor with his wife Dr. Elizabeth Goodenough.  They have two sons.
