For best results, follow the guidelines
below for any film you plan to submit to college coaches for
recruiting purposes.
-
Film should be high quality.
If it's blurry or shaky and difficult to see details, it will be
just as difficult for the coach to get anything from it.
Use a tripod and good camera if possible.
-
Try to record from a good height,
like the top of bleachers or a film platform. Field-level
film is not sufficient.
-
If you want to have your film
professionally edited and reproduced, that can be helpful.
A title screen with your name, school, year, position, jersey
number and contact information is also very helpful.
Putting that information on the DVD or VHS label is also
recommended.
-
Submit film on DVD (1st choice) or
VHS.
-
Many college coaches will tell you
that they don't like to see highlight film, only game film.
We prefer to see about a minute of highlights at the start of
the film, followed by game film. Our staff can usually
tell from the highlights if it will be worthwhile to continue
watching the game film.
-
Game film should be against a
quality opponent, and it should not be cut too much. We
want to see what you can do when you are providing the action,
but we also want to see how you play away from the ball, as well
as how you act on the field (good sportsmanship, hustle in and
out of huddles, paying attention, leadership, etc.).
Include as much as you like, from a quarter to a couple of
complete games.
