Visiting Campus:

A campus visit is a critical part of your college selection process.  It will give you a feel for the city and the school, and if tied into the lacrosse team, it will give you some valuable insight on the team, its coaches and its players who may someday be your teammates.

  • Contact Coach Paul at 734-622-9942 or modo@umich.edu to schedule your visit.  If available, he can meet with you and your parents to answer questions and show you around the athletic campus, and he can arrange to have you spend time with players on the team.

  • Most students visit during their senior year, although some schedule visits as early as their junior year.

  • Visiting during your junior year, or the summer before your senior year, helps you to make decisions about which schools to apply to.

  • Visiting in the fall of your senior year is usually during the application process or just before you apply.  It is the best time to visit Michigan, especially on a home football weekend to get a feel for what it's like at a major Division 1 school where football Saturdays are so much a part of the culture.  If you arrive on Thursday, you will probably also be able to see a fall lacrosse practice.

  • Visiting in the winter or spring of your senior year is usually done to narrow your choices after you have been accepted to schools.  The weather in Ann Arbor won't be as nice as other times of year, but it also gives you a better chance to see the team practicing or playing.  If you plan to visit in the winter or spring, be sure to check the team's schedule first to make sure we will be in town.

  • If you have completed your junior year of high school, and you visit during the academic year, Coach Paul can arrange to have you spend some time with current players on the team.  You can attend a class, hang out at their dorm or apartment or even spend a night to really get a feel for team and campus life.

  • While the ultimate decision on where you go to school should be up to you, we encourage you to bring your parents to your visit.  They should be involved in the decision, and they probably have questions for Coach Paul and other university officials.

  • Contact admissions to arrange a campus tour for you and your parents.

We hope to see you on campus soon.  Go Blue!
