General: Changed number from 12 to 26 before sophomore season...  tall player with a hard shot...  good mid-range shooter and inside finisher...  has worked hard on consistency and should make an impact this year.

Junior - 2008:

Sophomore - 2007: Played in 15 games, starting one...  Finished with seven goals and five assists topping his point total of nine (7-2-9) set last season...  Scored one of three man-down goals for Michigan this year vs. Central Michigan (Feb. 16)...  Notched first career four point game (1-3-4) vs. Western Michigan (March 17) setting highs in assists and points in the process.

Freshman - 2006: Played in 11 games and started in 1... Multiple career firsts (first goal, first assist, first multiple point game) in 1 goal and 1 assist effort vs. Pittsburgh (Mar. 17)... First career start vs. Eastern Michigan (Apr. 9)... Scored 2 points on 1 goal and 1 assist vs. Central Michigan (Apr. 1)... Scored first career hat trick vs. Indiana (Apr. 30)

Prep: Played for Bob Degen at Lake Forest High School... Earned three varsity letters... High School All-American in 2005... 1st-Team All-State and 1st-Team All-Conference in 2005... Team captain in 2005... Most Valuable Offensive Player as a senior... As a junior: First-Team All-Conference, Team Most Valuable Offensive Player... Also played football.

Personal: Parents are Joseph and Cathy McGowan... Born March 26, 1987... Enrolled in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts... majoring in Political Science.
