Venue Biography:
The Lydia Mendelssohn Theater, which is located in the Michigan League, opened in 1929. It is one of the few theaters in the United States to have a "cyclorama," a curved wall at the back of the stage. The cyclorama improves sound in the theater and provides creative lighting effects. While Mendelssohn is home to many student presentations, its stage has showcased the talents of performers such as Eartha Kitt and Barbara Cook.
Accessibility:
Handicap parking is available at the Fletcher Street Parking Stucture. The southwest entrance to the Michigan League is the only entrance to the building which is wheelchair accessible. An elevator is located near the center of the main hallway.
