Tiffany Chen is a third year chemistry
major. Outside of chemistry, she likes drinking good coffee and
swimming. Tiffany did not know Chinese before the trip, and has
enjoyed "reconnecting" with her Chinese heritage and
culture.

Justin Lomont is a senior chemistry major
who will be graduating in 2008. In his spare time he enjoys golfing
and playing tennis. Prior to going on this trip, he did not know
any Chinese, so he promised to learn quickly!

Brian O'Keefe is a senior biochemistry major
who will be beginning pharmacy school in the fall. He enjoys playing
basketball, biking, and hiking for leisure. Without any prior experience,
he did his best to pick up some survival Chinese before the trip.

Wei Wang is a second year chemistry major.
He likes every subdiscipline of chemistry, as well as
other majors. In life, he says he has an easy choice:
"anything is alright, just lead a life at will." He likes bicycling,
playing all sorts of chess and reading encyclopedic books.
He's quite excited about this summer session!

Xiaowen Feng is a sophomore chemistry
major from PKU. He has been working in the State Key Laboratory
of Rare Earth Materials Chemistry and Applications since his
freshman year. He likes playing soccer, watching
cartoons and listening to music. “The
ocean of science is a boundless adventure. I
have chosen one of them to be my greatest interest, and I plan
to explore the mysterious world with genuine curiosity
and vigor."

Xiaoxue Zhou a chemistry major from PKU . Her interest is chemical
biology and she have just began her lab experience. She likes playing
volleyball and watching movies for leisure. "I feel lucky to participate
in this program and am so excited about the trip."

Yiran Shen is a sophomore chemistry major from
PKU. Before this trip, he has never been to America.What interests
him the most is the science and technology on the other side of
the world. He likes painting, basketball and movies. He is currently
working in the Microfluidics Lab at PKU.
