Welcome to the UM PKU
University of Michigan/Peking University

2009 Summer Undergraduate Research Exchange in the
Chemical, Biological, and Life Sciences

Program Dates: June 28 - Aug 22, 2009
Application deadline for 2009 is Friday, March 13, 2009.

The UM PKU program for Chinese students is being supported by funds from Pfizer Global R&D, and the University of Michigan.

Research projects are available in many subject areas.

UM PKU Fellowship includes:
- a $1500 stipend, housing (shared room in a residence hall), and local programming
- Chinese students are responsible for the cost of their international travel, visa and SEVIS fee. Chinee students should check with their home departments to see if funds are available to help pay for some of these expenses. In the US, students need to pay for insurance (approximately $75/month) and food.

Please note that the Life Sciences Institute (LSI) and Chemical Biology (CB) are programs that include some faculty members from the other departments: Chemistry (CHEM), Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB), and Molecular, Cellular & Development Biology (MCDB).

In your application, you will need to provide a ranked list of faculty members whose group you would like to join. Selecting a faculty member under one program rather than another will not influence whether you are accepted.
