Submissions
Thank you for considering the Michigan Journal of Political Science for your article submission.
The Michigan Journal of Political Science accepts submissions from undergraduate students attending accredited universities worldwide. (The Journal does accept submissions from graduate students; however, these papers must have been written as an undergraduate). The Journal publishes high-quality submissions in the disciplines of History and Political Science, including those focusing on statistical analysis. Articles of all viewpoints are welcomed and evaluated based upon academic merit.
While the Editorial Board carefully considers the content in each submitted article, authors remain solely responsible for the accuracy of the facts presented. Submissions must be the original work of the author and sent from the author's originating mail server. The opinions expressed in any given article do not necessarily reflect those of the Editorial Board of the Michigan Journal of Political Science.
We are currently accepting submissions for the Winter 2005 journal. The tentative deadline for this journal is April 1, 2005. It is recommended that applicants submit their papers as early as possible. To submit a paper for evaluation, please e-mail it as an attachment to . Submission Style Guidelines
We ask that you follow the guidelines outlined below to professionalize your article within reasonable length and stylistic requirements.
Length: All articles, before publication, should be under 40 pages. MJPS understands that many research papers and senior thesis papers initially will not meet this standard. Such papers may be submitted in their original format, but authors should do so with the expectation of revising and cropping papers to meet the requirement. Suggested Length: 20-30 pages.
Format: The Journal requires Modern Language Association (MLA) stylistic guidelines in its submissions. This denotes 12 point font, double-spaced, MS Word submissions. Graphs must be submitted electronically as part of the Word document, photocopies and separate documents will not be accepted.
Citations: MJPS expects the use of endnotes, along with a bibliography, to appropriately cite sources. Footnotes may be used for pertinent comments.
Content: Papers will be evaluated based upon methodology, originality of argument and novelty of research. The use of statistical analysis is encouraged but not required. Prospective authors are encouraged to consult the journals Foreign Affairs and the American Political Science Review for models upon which to pattern their submissions.
