AUSTRALIA HOME

   South Australia - 3 May to 6 May 2000

South Australia was our first stop in Australia. After a 39 hour trip from Detroit, we landed in Adelaide and were met by host families from the Adelaide Harmony Choir. Our first day was taken up by a tour of Kangaroo Island, the second largest island in Australia. We saw seals, kangaroos, koalas, as well as some incredible landscapes. The Remarkable Rocks (right) are a granite outcropping facing the Great Southern Ocean. The next day we sang a concert at the University of Adelaide and I took a tour of the state parliament. Adelaide is a very friendly city, with a well-planned downtown and lots of parkland.
