Genetics Clinics
The Medical Genetics and Cancer Genetics Clinics at the University of Michigan represent a unique resource in the region for evaluation and diagnosis of individuals who may be at risk for genetic diseases. The clinics involve the joint efforts of UM faculty, physicians, medical geneticists and board-certified genetic counselors that work together to render appropriate screening, diagnosis, evaluation, counseling and treatment for patients' and their families.
As an integral part of the Department of Internal Medicine, the Medical Genetics Clinic, established in 1941, is the oldest genetics clinic in the country, and it, as well as the other UM genetics clinics, offers the highest quality services currently available. Our faculty and staff are known nationally and internationally for their work, and they are committed to providing quality healthcare, conducting research to advance the field of genetics and teaching the next generation of clinicians and researchers. We invite you to visit our clinic websites for more information about the services offered and how to contact the clinics.
