Monroe Street Journal On-Line

by Steve Pert, MBA2

Question:

I saw the notice in last week's Monroe Street Journal about MSJ on-line. Where is the MSJ on-line, and how do I access it?

Answer:

The Monroe Street Journal can now be accessed over the Internet from anywhere in the world! Although the MSJ has been on-line since March, there is a new graphical World Wide Web interface with more features than just the basic text (see related article in this week's issue). If you are familiar with the Web, the address to find us is: http://www.umich.edu/~msjrnl/ Back issues are also available on-line.

If you aren't familiar with using the Internet to "browse the Web," the Monroe Street Journal is hosting an Internet demo today at 6:00pm in room B1273. We will be available to show you how to get onto the Internet, how to access the `Net from your home computer, how to search for information, and other tricks. We will demo the latest version of the Netscape Web browser, version 2.0, which allows multiple windows to appear simultaneously on screen.

In the demo, you will learn how to download the most current version of Netscape. However, if you want to do this on your own, just point your current Web browser to: http://home.netscape.com/comprod/mirror/index.html and follow the instructions. Don't worry if this doesn't seem familiar. Today's demo will make it crystal clear!

If you have a question on using technology or the Internet, e-mail it to the MSJ's TECHNOLOGY ANSWERS at spert@umich.edu.
