Biography

Filipino-American pianist Jovanni-Rey V. de Pedro holds degrees from the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien in Austria and Trinity College of Music in England. He has performed in concert venues in Asia, across North America and Europe. Recent engagements have included concerto appearances with the Vienna Residenz Orchester, Santa Monica Symphony, and University of Santo Tomas Symphony in the Philippines, solo recitals at London?s St. Martin-in-the-Fields and a tour of Ireland performing Messiaen?s Quartet for the End of Time.

Jovanni has won numerous competitions including the United States Open, Ibiza (Spain), Pacific (Canada), Fidelio (Austria) and Beethoven (England). He has presented at conferences for MTNA, CMS, EPTA/World Piano Teachers Association (Serbia) and the Australasian Piano Pedagogy Association, and has served on the teaching staff at City University London and the New Ross Chamber Music Festival (Ireland). Jovanni is currently on the piano faculty at Interlochen Summer Arts Camp, and is a doctoral candidate in Piano Pedagogy and Performance at the University of Michigan where he studies with John Ellis and Louis Nagel.
