INTRODUCTION

Everyday millions of women wear high heels in business and social settings. High heels are always at the height, and on the cutting edge, of fashion. Yet they are uncomfortable to wear and often cause injuries. What we wanted to know is, what are the differences in gait between walking in high heels and sneakers in college aged females.

We analyzed the gait of a college aged female walking in high heels and in normal sneakers. We then studied the differences in the variations in her gait. The purpose of this project is to compare the gait between walking in high heels and walking in sneakers. By analyzing the data we hope to fing the differences, if any, between the two movements. These differences may help women, and biomechanists, to better understand how different footwear affects their movement.
