Our movement question inquires as to whether there are age-related differences evident between the vertical jumps of young and middle-aged men. The issue is important because it should reveal general trends in the aging process and the effects that occur on jumping style and technique (Selbie, 1996).
Our purpose in this project is to effectively compare differences in style and technique in vertical jumping between a male collegiate athlete and a middle-aged male. We will also analyze differences in posture and the impact it has on vertical and horizontal displacement of the body. This will ultimately be accomplished through video analysis of the two movements filmed in our study.
