Huetwell bequest
to help many projects

The University received a gift of nearly $16.8 million from the estate of Frederick G.L. (Fritz) Huetwell '38, a longtime Michigan friend and donor who was profiled in the March 1995 issue of Michigan Today.

Portions of the Huetwell bequest will support the Medical School's endowment, the University Library, student financial aid, the Michigan Speech and Hearing Camp, the University Marching Bands and construction of an Ann Arbor campus Visitors Center.

The Visitors Center, a 19,000-square-foot addition to the Student Activities Building on Maynard Street, will be named in Huetwell's honor.

Beneficiaries of additional portions of the estate art yet to be designated.--RK.
