The following is a shortened version of your International Student
Orientation Schedule:

For a detailed schedule please see the International Orientation Brochure and/or the Office of New Student Programs' (ONSP) International Orientation webpages.

These dates and times are subject to change, so see the ONSP website for the most current information.

Friday August 22:

Check in for International Parent and Student Orientation. This first day will include a series of informational sessions on many aspects of UM campus life such as health insurance, financial aid, and student life.

Saturday August 23:

Morning: Introduction to Registration resources and a panel of current UM international students for questions and answers

Afternoon: Written portion of the Academic English Evaluation (AEE)

Sunday August 24:

Morning: Chemistry and Language Placement exams

Afternoon: Oral portion of the Academic English Evaluation (AEE)

Monday - Wednesday August 25 - 27:

You will be introduced to LSA requirements and policies on Monday morning. Either Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning, you will meet with your academic advisor to discuss your academic interests, placement results, transfer credit, and potential Fall course selection.

After meeting with your advisor, you will then have some time to work with International Academic Peer Advisors to complete your online "backpack" of classes that you wish to take in the Fall semester.

After this backpacking session, you will meet with your advisor again to register for Fall classes.
