Ganbarou!

Japan Student Association is constantly welcoming new members. No commitment is required; our meetings, Coffee Hour, and other JSA events are always welcome to those who simply want to drop in. Whether you want to practice your Japanese or make new friends, our members are ready and waiting. So what are you waiting for? Come be a part of U of M's thriving Japan student community!

Coming Together

Japan Student Association is currently planning events focusing on the relief efforts for the recent Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami disaster. These efforts and plans include the Paper Crane project, selling "Pray for Japan" wristbands and T-shirts, etc. We will update as we finalize dates, but please feel free to come to any of other meetings, make a crane or twenty, we will appreciate any of your efforts and support during these trying times.

Japan Culture Festival

Japan Culture Festival, or JCF, is Japan Student Association's yearly celebration of Japanese culture here at the University of Michigan. JCF is a large production, made possible only with the help of our members and volunteers. Consequently, this is the time of year when we depend on the help of our volunteers the most. But don't get us wrong, it's also one of our most fun and spirited activities. So if you're looking for a way to lend a hand during the bleak months of winter, come help with Japan Culture Festival and be a part of the action. Ganbarimashou! (Let's do our best!)

Office Hours

This year, we are introducing office hours with the board members. The board members are either fluent or native Japanese, or currently taking U of M Japanese classes. They are paired or grouped up in 2-3 people and will be holding office hours 2-3 times a week. During these times, feel free to come by for any Japanese help, homework or not, or if you just want to talk!

Unfortunately, due to the JCF Preparatory Meetings this semester, we are unable to hold office hours like we had last semester. Please stay tuned for more details after the Japan Culture Festival. Otherwise, please scroll up for the dates and times of the JCF prep details for this semester. We hope to see you there!
