The frustles in the girdle view are rectangular. The ventral margin is usually slightly concave at the center, straight at the ends of the valve; sometimes almost straight throughout the entire length. The dorsal margin is convex; narrowed, often reflexed at the ends to form truncate, somewhat capitate apices. The dorsal margin is sometimes not so formedand the ends are truncate-rostrate. The terminal nodules are distinct, at the ends of the valve, extending upwards along the apices. The striae are parallel.(Patrick and Reimer 1966).
