MISSION STATEMENT

The University of Michigan Polish Club is a student run organization with the purpose of spreading Polish culture on campus and to the surrounding areas. We bring together Polish students, citizens and their friends by organizing a wide variety of social and cultural events throughout the year, including several mixers and bonfires, which allow for our members and friends to interact. Students experience Polish culture by participating in the special events we hold such as Andrejki (St. Andrews Day) and Pisanki (Easter Egg Decorating). Also, they are more than welcome to come cook Polish favorites, Pierogi and Golapki, at any one of our cooking events during the year.

Aside from all the events hosted by the club, we work closely with our friends from the Polish American Congress in assisting them with the organization of the Annual Ann Arbor Polish Film festivals. We have strong ties with the Center for Russian and Eastern European studies and help them accommodate visitors they invite from Poland and neighboring Slavic countries, such as President Kwasniewski who visited us last fall. Our club was also involved in the World Tour where several of our members performed the traditional Polonez dance, entertaining guests while they enjoyed numerous Polish dishes.

We plan on hosting many more events this year and welcome everyone to come join us at any one of them to socialize and learn about our culture.
