For Participants > Dancers > Dancer Rules

  • There is absolutely NO SMOKING allowed inside Saline Middle School.
  • Points will be awarded for each Grand Entry beginning Saturday morning. Dancers must be ready and on time. On time means being behind the flags at Grand Entry time. All numbers must be visible on your left side. Any contestant observed leaving the arena before the flags are posted will not receive points for that Grand Entry.
  • All dance contestants will be judged on appropriate dance style, stopping on time, dance regalia, and good sportsmanship.
  • Random spot checks of contestants will be made three times for each category. There will be one spot check for each category during each of three sessions of the Powwow.
  • Contestants must dance in the correct age group and may only enter in one category. Any violation of these policies will result in disqualification.
  • Contestants must be in full regalia to claim their award.
  • We will provide open-book judging.
  • Tiny Tot is exhibition only. Day money will be awarded at the conclusion of their song.
  • Absolutely NO alcohol or drugs are allowed on or near the Powwow premises! If a dancer has been using, or is in the possession of alcohol or drugs, s/he will be disqualified from competition and will be asked to leave the premises.
  • NO disorderly conduct, excessive noise, or unruly behavior will be tolerated at HOST HOTELS!
  • Award monies will be made in cash.
