The Creative Mode

The Creative Mode hands hypermedia over to students for production. Students are no longer conceived as passive recipients of a prearranged world view, but as active creators of one within the scope of their selected topic. They will have opportunities to do their own independent research projects, based on segments of the video narrative. Authoring tools are being created for learners, so that they can develop their own modules, without having extensive programming skills. The Creative Mode, in its final form, will include a modifiable media database of various video, audio, and graphic clips which students can incorporate into their own applications. They will also include a variety of templates for creating multimedia presentations. Creative Mode applications are being developed in Spanish and English for the Buried Mirror Project.
