Child Observation Grading Sheet

You have the option of doing ONE of the following.

  1. Observe Children/A Child: This child(ren) must be between the age of newborn and 12-years of age. While you are observing, please note thigs that the child does, says, sees, etc (You must observe for 45 minutes.) After which,, write up an 2 - 3 page report on your observations and relate it to relevant course material. You may find that you have to skim ahead in your book, however all the reading that you do will be on the first exam.
  2. Shopping: You will take 45 minutes and 50 'pretend' dollars to a local store. At which time, you will assess how much infant products you can purchase. You are to assume that you have all of the big items. Assume that you will have just had the baby - What items do you need? Be sure to get age-approperiate items.
  3. Birthing Information: You will call several different agencies and find out information on various birthing techniques. Then assess the benefits/drawbacks of each. Relate the information to your text readings on labor, prenatal care, etc.
  4. Do your own thing: Should you chose to do this option, you will need to design an activity that you want to find my information about and relate it to course material. You MUST okay your idea with me.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.
