Literature Review

Purposes:
    - Set up the thinking behind your study
    - Show the need for your study
    - Pay your respects to those researchers who preceded you

Paper #4

You must have at least 4 different references cited in your introduction

At least 1 of them must be an article you found yourself (i.e., not a textbook, an article cited in a textbook, or a coursepack article)

How to do it

Go to the library webpage and click on MIRLYN

Choose Indexes (not library catalogs)

Choose PsycInfo
    - It will ask for your name and ID#

Searches

Search by article title, author name, subject, or keyword

Keyword searches give you the most flexibility

For example: k = eyewitness and confidence

What to search for

Articles with your specific topic are good (obviously)

So are the individual components of your topic (e.g., race, inadmissible evidence, pre-trial publicity, etc.)

Assignment

Two copies of the draft of your introduction are due by Friday 12/1 at noon
    - (note extension/change from syllabus due date)
    - (note what a nice guy I am)

Intro should contain lit review, as well as explanation of your interaction hypothesis
