Hot-lines for infoNational EMF Research Hotline Number The number for the EMF Infoline operated by the EPA as part of the multi-agency EMF research and Public Information Dissemination ("EMF RAPID") Program is: 1-800-363-2383. The National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) can also answer EMF questions on their ENVIRO-HEALTH Hotline: 1-800-643-4794. And the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) can also answer EMF questions on their Information on Workplace Hazards Hotline: 1-800-356-4674.
DOE '800' Information Lines Following is a directory of Department of Energy "800" numbers offered for information and service: 800-967-EISR(3477) - EIS for a Proposed Repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada 800-626-6376 - Nuclear Safety Hotline - accepts complaints or concerns. 800-270-2633 - Building Energy Standards Program Hotline - for questions on DOE standards and the Energy Policy Act. 800-292-8061 - DOE Occupation, Safety and Health Standards - interpretations and research service. 800-566-2877 - Federal Energy Management Program Help Desk - assists Federal Energy Managers at Federal installations with developing energy conservation programs to meet the requirements of the Energy Policy Act of 1992. The Federal Energy Management Program helps facility personnel with software programs, publications, training, in various conservation activities - lighting, HVAC, water conservation, renewable energy, etc. This office does not restrict itself to DOE, it assists all agencies. 800-523-2929 - Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Clearinghouse (EREC) - offers fact sheets, videos, brochures; also handles complex technical inquiries. EREC is a consolidation of the Conservation and Renewable Energy Inquiry and Referral Service (CAREIRS) and the National Appropriate Technology Assistance Service (NATAS). Service includes technical inquiries and business assistance on financing for energy-related businesses. 800-423-1363 - Alternative Fuels Hotline - information to the public and fleet owners on alternative fuels. 800-224-8437 - Clean Cities Hotline - for communities interested in joining the DOE alternative fuels conversion program. 800-862-8860 - Environmental Management Advisory Board Information Line - meeting dates, locations, etc. 800-225-6972 - Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management Information Center - for information on OCRWM program. Serves the public, educators, and industry. A publication clearinghouse. 800-874-5335 - OCRWM Quality Concerns Hotline - for individuals to confidentially raise issues to senior management without fear of retaliation or reprimand, and obtain feedback on resolution if desired. 800-736-3282 - Center for Environmental Management Information - serves the public, educators, and industry; a publication clearinghouse. Now also answering questions on environmental technology and technology transfer formerly handled by the Office of Technology Development's (EM) Environmental Technology Information Service (ETIS). The ETIS has been merged with the Center. 800-541-1625 - Inspector General Hotline - to report fraud, waste, and abuse. 800-282-5195 - Toxic Materials Information Line - for assistance on hazardous materials and chemicals; operated by Brookhaven National Laboratory. 800-472-2756 - National Environmental Policy Act Information Hotline.
