Environmental Protection Agency

The EPA publishes ALI and DAC information, effect dose equivalents, and regulations on emissions and releases of radioactive materials. gases. It also controls the SuperFund Clean Up programs. Occupational Safety and Health Administration

OSHA regulates the control of radioactive material in the work place that are not controlled by the DOE or the NRC. They also control overall safety of the work place, including physical, chemical, sound and light hazards including non-ionizing radiation. To access GAO reports as FULL TEXT ASCII electronic files from the Government Printing Office (GPO) Access via a WAIS (Wide Area Information Search) database, follow these steps:

Note: PDF (Portable Document Format) files are available only via WWW or a WAIS client.

Via WWW:

1) Go to: http://thorplus.lib.purdue.edu/gpo/
2) Select GAO database (near bottom of 2nd screen),
3) perform search for document(s). For example, a KEYWORD search on a subject: "Welfare Reform", OR a KEYWORD search on a report number:> reportnum="HEHS-95-58" (must use quotes in searches).
4) use the "m" command to mail the file to yourself.

Via TELNET:

1) TELNET to: swais.access.gpo.gov;
2) login as > gao (must be lower case);
3) perform search for document(s). For example, a KEYWORD search on a subject: "Welfare Reform", OR a KEYWORD search on a report number:> reportnum="HEHS-95-58" (must use quotes in searches).
