Directors & Officers
Employer's Legal Liability

Covers all amounts the University is legally obligated to pay for the legal defense and damages incurred as a result of a claim against the University, staff member, manager, officer, director, or Regent. Coverage includes any alleged error, misstatement, misleading statement, act, omission, neglect or breach of duty arising while acting in good faith during the performance of their assigned duties. Coverage also extends to those acting in good faith serving on boards approved in advance by the University.

How To Submit a Claim

A staff member who receives notice of a complaint of alleged wrongdoing must notify the Office of the General Counsel immediately.

A request for indemnification must be submitted by the staff member to the Office of the General Counsel for review by the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer or Provost.

SAFETY TIPS

Close the door when you exit a room during a fire.

If a door feels hot during a fire, don't open it. Seal all cracks with wet towels and shut off fans and air conditioners. Signal at a window for rescue assistance.

Remind everyone if clothes catch on fire; STOP; DROP AND ROLL.
