Mock Rock
History
Inaugurated in 1999, the Student-Athlete variety show, known as Mock Rock, was the way in which SAAC raised monetary contributions toward the Jeff Reese Scholarship Fund. After the tragic passing of the University of Michigan wrestler, his fellow Student-Athletes created the show in order to honor his life. Over the years, Mock Rock has dramatically grown into a viable and sustainable student-athlete-run project and thus has shifted its focus to giving back to the community, which so gratefully supports Student-Athletes.
Mock Rock Chairs
Mock Rock is a student-athlete variety show put on in an effort to raise funds for local charities. Each year, we, the University of Michigan student-athletes, perform a mixture of skits, dances, and performances at Hill Auditorium in order to entertain the Ann Arbor community.
Through ticket sales and fundraising efforts, we are able to pass along our success to two worthy organizations:
The Family and Hope fund at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor
The Jalen Rose Leadership Academy in Detroit
We ask for your support in making any donation you can to help us reach our goal of $100,000 in proceeds for the show. Join us in being heroes for the community, and take a small step forward in conquering adversity.
