General Information:

We all know that our years at the University of Michigan are the best years of our lives. It's crossed many minds to come back to Michigan and relive the college days, at least for a weekend. The third annual SAAN conference provides the perfect weekend to return to Ann Arbor. SAAN offers a perfect forum in which alumni can reunite, meet a younger generation of South Asian students, and learn from a series of impressive speakers and workshops, all at the University of Michigan. We guarantee a weekend that will be fun, exciting, and thought provoking. So register online starting October 15, pack your bags, and come back to good ol’ Ann Arbor!

We believe that the presence of alumni at the SAAN conference is important on two levels. Not only does SAAN offer alumni a chance to come back to the University of Michigan, but it also gives alumni the chance to inspire younger South Asian students. Alumni have the unique capability of providing current students the opportunity to see what life is like for young South Asians beyond the college years. You are models for the successes and experiences that have been unique to our people and our culture in this country.

An important part of our conference vision is to celebrate the successes of our community. We feel that alumni are a direct link to these successes, and thus should be celebrated. By interacting with speakers and participants, alumni can both offer their insight and gain understanding into their roles in maintaining collectiveness within our South Asian community. The alumni weekend has been set up to give alumni a relaxed weekend to catch up with friends, re-live the campus life, participate in conference workshops, and network with other alumni and speakers.
