Established by Senate Assembly according to Regent's Bylaw 4.06 :
...The assembly shall establish standing committees to advise and consult with the vice presidents of the University on matters within the areas of their respective responsibilities....
Purpose: To provide advice on policy issues brought to the committee by the Vice President for Medical Affairs and others.
Review, monitor and help build support for policies as they are being developed.
Advise/inform SACUA and other pertinent Senate Committees on relevant policy issues in health and medical affairs.
Provide for exchange of relevant information among the various faculties in the health sciences (Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Pharmacy, and Social Work) and between the health sciences and other units of the university.
Become knowledgeable about the policies and issues within Health Affairs in order to identify and contribute to appropriate faculty initiatives in health and medical affairs.
