Faculty Governance Update to the Regents

THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN
REGENTS COMMUNICATION

January 2006

At its December 12, 2005 meeting, Senate Assembly held a forum, co-sponsored by the University of Michigan Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), on the topic of faculty reaction to the June 30, 2005 Report of the Committee to Consider a More Flexible Tenure Probationary Period.  Former president of both the University of Virginia and the University of Wisconsin system, current Virginia Professor Robert M. O'Neil was the keynote speaker at the event.

On January 23, 2006, Senate Assembly will meet and, it is expected, express its reaction to the recommendations in the administration's flexible tenure clock report.

SACUA Minutes and Senate Assembly Minutes are available online.
