On June 1, 2004, School of Nursing Professor Bonnie Metzger began her partial appointment in the newly created position of Central Faculty Ombuds.  Provost Paul Courant created this position as a result of an initial request by SACUA.  Professor Metzger's role will be to enhance the already existing peer faculty ombuds in each unit.

On September 20, at Senate Assembly's first meeting of the 2004-05 academic year, President Mary Sue Coleman is scheduled to address the Assembly.  The bi-annual Regent Candidates' Forum is planned for the October Senate Assembly meeting and Provost Paul Courant is scheduled for the November meeting.
