SACUA RETREAT - On August 26, SACUA held a second planning retreat to finalize priorities for the upcoming academic year and to meet with the newly elected President of the University. In addition to meeting with President Mary Sue Coleman, SACUA invited Regent Chair Larry Deitch, Interim Provost Paul Courant, Associate Provost Valerie Castle, and Deputy General Counsel Dan Sharphorn to the second retreat as guests. The discussion with Regent Deitch and President Coleman was introductory in nature while the discussion with Interim Provost Courant, Associate Provost Castle, and Deputy General Counsel Sharphorn centered on identifying appropriate responses to aggrieved faculty concerns.
SEARCH COMMITTEES - SACUA is pleased to announce that SACUA Chair Charlie Koopmann has been selected to serve on the EVPMA advisory search committee, SACUA member SeonAe Yeo has been selected to serve on the CFO advisory search committee, and SACUA member Stan Berent has been selected to serve on the Vice President for Development advisory search committee.
REGENT CANDIDATES' FORUM - In keeping with a practice begun two years ago, SACUA will hold a Regent candidates' forum on October 14 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Hale Auditorium of the Business School. Further details, such as a list of the participants, will follow as those details are finalized.
