The Committee for a Multicultural University advises and consults with the Senior Vice Provost for Academic and Multicultural
Affairs on issues concerning reducing discrimination and promoting
a more Multicultural University.

Purpose:
To advise and develop agendas, position papers and proposals to all elements of faculty governance (including Senate Assembly and all of its committees) with a
strong regular liaison to SACUA.
To develop plans for involving faculty throughout the University in the implementation of
initiatives concerned with reducing racism and promoting a more multicultural University.
To advocate for faculty perspectives and involvement in the implementation of the
recruitment and retention of minority faculty and under-represented students.
To provide leadership for the faculty on issues and tasks related to the above goals.
Composition:
Two to four students with equal numbers of graduate and undergraduate.

Established by Senate Assembly according to Regent's Bylaw 4.06 :
.....The assembly may create other standing and special committees to
assist it with its work.....
To communicate regularly with and provide input from a faculty perspective to the
Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and other relevant administrative groups.
Faculty representing a cross section of the Schools and Colleges, with representation from different
races and ethnicities, both genders, and various ranks. Members serve for three-year
staggered terms.
Meets at least monthly during the academic year.
Agenda and tasks generated by members, SACUA, the Vice Provost, and other faculty committees and groups.
