Goldman, General Counsel, Medical Center, presented an update on the Health
Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). (Handout was included.)
This presentation covered the regulations, changes from earlier proposed
regulations, general issues, what is covered, and provided examples of cases.
Rob
Barbret, Jim Randolph, and Virginia Wait presented an update on the Sponsored
Program Implementation Team (SPIT). (Handout
was included.) This presentation
covered the original issues and the revised issues list, as well as the impact
ratings.
