Michigan Sailing Club Spring Fling Regatta

Sunday May 5, 2013

Sailing on Baseline Lake, just north of Ann Arbor

Rules

All classes of sailboats up to 18 feet are welcome.

The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016, the rules of each participating class and the Sailing Instructions.

Results will be based on Portsmouth yardstick.

We will allow co-skippering.

Eligibility

The Regatta is open to all sailors. You don't need to be a member of any class association to race. You don't need to be a member of the Michigan Sailing Club either.

  • To sail a club boat, both skipper and crew must be current club members.

  • The skipper or both co-skippers of a club boat must have their crew sailing test signed or an equivalent level of skill.

  • Club members can specify ahead of time which hull and sail #s they wish to reserve (first come, first served).

Registration

You are encouraged to register in advance to help us better prepare for the regatta: email Paul Townsend, Racing Chair, to do so.

Registrations will be accepted on the morning of the regatta until the start of the Skippers' Meeting.

There is no fee for this regatta; it's free!
We will collect an optional fee (~$10/person) at the skippers meeting for lunch. Note that we do not have food or drink concessions, so this is the only option to purchase lunch on-site.
Feel free to bring your own food and drinks if you prefer.

Club members may reserve a boat in advance on a first-come, first-served basis. There may be a waiting list if all boats are reserved. Contact Fernando to reserve your boat, or use the sign-up sheet at the club.

Here is a list of everyone who's currently registered.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the top five skippers and crews. We'll also be giving away many fun prizes to other sailors.

Club Rules

No alcohol is allowed on the grounds, and no pets.
Children must be supervised at all times.

Misc. Information

The regatta will be held at the club's property on Baseline Lake, at 8010 Strawberry Lake Road in Dexter, Michigan.
