In one of our more impressive recruiting years yet the team has managed to keep on upwards of 20 new sailors through two weeks of practice. This thursday we had a total of 37 sailors of various skill levels out on the lake. It's great to see people stick around, especially with all the potential in this upcoming group.

The third Annual Alumni Regatta will be held at 9:00AM on September 24th at baseline lake. This is the weekend of the Michigan/Wisconsin Home Football Game (Saturday). Breakfast, lunch, and crews will be provided on Sunday. Both Fleet and Team Races will be held with prizes for the winners. Check back later today or friday for more details!!!

In the first outing of the season, the Sailing Team had a great performance at the Fall Fury Intersectional hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The team of Curt Rozelle '09, Caitlin Fortune '08, Chris Granger '07, and Lisa Vandenbossche '07 took third place overall while Curt and Caitlin won A Division. After a close day of sailing on Saturday, the team had a dominating performance on Sunday to finish with a great result. Michigan sailors hope to continue this success when they travel to New York next weekend for the Nevins Trophy and then to the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club for the Cary Price Regatta....
