Midwinters Report
The annual MCSA Midwinter Conference was very successful. The Team has registered for some very exciting and competitive regattas both in the ICSA and MCSA for the 2007 sailing year. The Michigan Sailing Team also received several awards recognizing our success as a team and several individual sailors.

Midwinters was hosted this year in down town Toledo Ohio by the University of Toledo Sailing Team. The weekend was a great success.
Dan Morris was elected into the MCSA Board and will be serving as the Districts Regatta Chair for 2007. We are very excited for him and know that he will do a great job!
The team registered for 2007 regattas. Both the Spring and Fall season look to be very busy as our team has signed up for several great regattas in both the MCSA and ICSA. In addition to all three qualifiers some of the regattas we will be sailing in this spring are Trux hosted by the U.S. Navy Academy, Big Ten Team Race hosted by us, and the Gopher Invite hosted by Minnesota. The full schedule is posted on the website under the tab marked Schedule. Results for these regattas will be posted there as well once the season starts.
The Michigan Sailing Team was recognized at the banquet for winning the Women’s Division on MCSA for 2006. We are excited to have all of our Women’s Team back for the Spring Season and expect great things from them this spring!
The team had several individual members recognized for their sailing abilities at the banquet that evening. Chris Granger received the All District Award for being a job as a Coed skipper. Christina Falcone received the All District Skipper Award for being an outstanding Coed and Women’s skipper. Lisa Vandenbousse and Cailtin Fortune both received the All District Award for their work done as crew. Evan Quasney was the recipient of the Sportsmanship award. The team was happy to have one of our senior members earn this award as sportsmanship is one of the most important awards you can ever receive.
