Notre Dame
March 25-26, 2006

Despite the classic Midwest regatta weather and st. joe's lake wind shifts, the Freshman Icebreaker was a successful regatta. On Saturday The morning began with cloudy sky and shifty winds mainly out of the northwest at 3-6 in the morning building slightly as the day went on. The weather as the day progressed included sleet, snow, hail, and rain, with a little bit of sun every now and then. 10 races in both A and B divisions were completed. Windward Leeward twice arounds and triangle windward leewards were sailed. Only one boat filed for a breakdown after a broken tiller extension. One protest was filed.

On Sunday the remaining 6 races were sailed completing the rotation. Winds Sunday were very light and shifty with temperatures in the 30s. All courses were windward leeward twice arounds.

The new Notre Dame Freshman Icebreaker trophy was awarded to the Winning Team Michigan Maize.
