Here are some common questions about the Men's Activism Program.

  1. What's the difference between SAPAC's men's program and MAVAW? MAVAW and the MA program work for the same goals with the same mindsets. Although, the MA program has different activities that it is involved with and runs, MAVAW might be helping or co-sponsoring. Because the MA program is through SAPAC, the volunteers of the MA program will also obtain the wonderful training to be a SAPAC volunteer and take part in the NPA and PE programs with their respective training. Any further questions on this, please contact us!
  2. What's the time commitment? Any time that you can give to this effort and cause is doing a lot to begin with. We do have a mandatory 35-hour training offered in the fall and winter terms. (It spans over a few weeks). After training though, it's any time you can give. We usually expect volunteers to attend weekly meetings that are scheduled based on all volunteers' schedules.
  3. How many volunteers do you take? There is no limit to how many we take. As many as we can find!
  4. Are graduate students allowed to volunteer? Yes.
  5. I'm in a fraternity. There's a huge stigma against fraternity brothers involving sexual assault. Am I allowed to volunteer? Of course! SAPAC does not discriminate in its volunteer selection.
  6. So I want to get involved. What do I do now? Send us a volunteer application. We'll respond as soon as possible with all the training times and to set up an interview time. We hope to hear from you soon!
