The scope of the projects undertaken by NPA volunteers varies from year to year as the group follows the inspiration of its newest members. This year, we will be putting on a brand new benefit project that will be fun and engaging for participants, educational for the audience, and beneficial for survivors in our community. Following the American Cancer Society’s tried-and-true model of Relay for Life, participants will raise money according to how many laps they take on our track. There’s one catch: participants will be sporting those toe-pinching, back-breaking high heels women are all too familiar with. SAPAC hopes to engage both men and women in this event entitled Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. In the fall, we will determine where the proceeds of the event will go.
