Upon request, SAPAC provides educational programs on sexual violence issues and systems of oppression as they relate to sexual violence for the entire University community: students, staff, and faculty. Programs can be facilitated by SAPAC Peer Educators or professional staff. Training programs for faculty and staff and departments can be designed to fit program needs.
Individuals can use our Education and Training services by requesting a workshop from the Peer Education and/or Men’s Activism programs.
In addition, in 2004, SAPAC was awarded a Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women grant entitled, "Grants to Reduce Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking on Campus Program." This grant has enabled us to create the University of Michigan Violence Prevention Project whose goals are to develop, strengthen, and expand educational and crisis response initiatives on campus; improve outreach to underrepresented communities; strengthen and build upon trainings for students, faculty, and staff; and enhance our coordinated community response for survivors.
