Services

SAPAC was established to meet the growing concerns of the University about the increasing incidents of sexual assault on college campuses. SAPAC has two missions: to provide services to survivors of sexual assault, dating / domestic violence, sexual harassment, stalking, and their significant others; and to provide education and prevention programs to the University community on these issues. Services are available to any university student, their significant others, and staff. Services include a 24-hour crisis line, crisis intervention and follow-up; and advocacy with the university, legal, and medical systems.

Education and prevention programs include the Peer Education Program for students; systems training for police, medical personnel, legal personnel, faculty, etc., on issues of sexual violence; professional training for UM staff; and public awareness and activism activities, such as Sexism in Advertising, Speak-Out, and the Men's Activism Program.
